Editorial – Member Services Database
As many of you know, I have been a member for a long time and have been listed as contact person on the Guild search pages. I often get a phone call from a member, or sometimes an outside person asking if I know someone who is willing to make a quilt for them, or if I know someone who will hand quilt a quilt top made by a grandmother or aunt they have received and want to finish, but don't know how. Other questions come up such as to where can I take lessons? Where can I get my scissors sharpened, and do you know someone who knows how to~~~~~? etc. etc.
We now have clarification of our rules and status as a tax-exempt social group, (not a fund-raising or philanthropic organization). Cotton Patch Quilters has many talented teachers, professionals, and service people who could be networking and helping one another. To make this a bit easier to do, we are compiling a database of people within our guild, or who are well known to members for doing quality work so we can "network" and have a reference list from which to work. This will include our members who are professionals or business owners.
At the September guild meeting, there will be sign-up sheets for you to list your businesses, your skills, and people you use who do quality work that have helped you out. This is not an advertising program or promotional program, it is only a referral listing we can look to if we are looking for something specific we want done. If you have any questions about this, you can see me after the meeting and I will be glad to answer to the best of my ability. For now, I will be the keeper of this list, and you may contact me for a list, or for information. Please consider putting your name and talents on this list so that our membership may avail of your services.

Recipe Show & Tell
The ladies who bring "goodies" for refreshments have been requested to also provide a copy (or copies) of the recipe so that others my enjoy making the tasty treats at home. The above treat was so good, that there was a demand for it to be printed, so here is some "tell" from Show and Tell. Enjoy!! I didn't get the name of the contributor, but a big thank you for this one!
