The guild’s opportunity quilt, “Sew Full of Whimsy”, was unveiled at the January meetings, and the response to the quilt has been fabulous! The applique pattern used in the quilt is called, "My Whimsical Garden" by Piece 'O Cake Designs. The block pattern was from "My Jeweled Flower" by Nancy Rink Designs.
 After the quilt was completed, I wrote a blog post about it, and I sent pictures to Piece 'O Cake Designs. They liked it so much, that they wrote an article about it and posted a picture on their blog, referring readers back to my blog post. In 4 days, I received over 1,200 hits from their blog! A total of 24 members participated in completing the quilt. They are: Nancy Rink, Eve Hall, Pam Gavin, Patty Young, Lynn Douglass, Lois Campise, Gerry Skaggs, Cindy Seitz-Krug, Kay Ward, Steffani McChesney, Elizabeth Lehman, Sue Pacheco, Betty Colbert, Nancy Montague, LaVonne Templeton, Chic Cloud, Joan Millsap, Roberta Williams, Sheila Plane, Carol Smith, Janice Jackson, Sarah Kenney, CeCe Westerfield, Judy Walker. The quilting was done by me. It's so exciting to see a project like this come together, and I was very blessed to have all of these ladies involved!
Tickets are all bundled, and we will have them available for members at the March meeting. We ask that each member take a package to sell. The tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Each envelope will contain 24 tickets. Members are welcome to buy the $20.00 pack, or sell them. If you want more tickets to  sell, that would be great! This is the primary fundraiser for our guild, and most of our operating costs are covered by the funds raised from the opportunity quilt ticket sales. It's vital to have member participation in selling the tickets.
The quilt will be given away at our Quilt Show in January. We are currently working on a wall hanging that will coordinate with the quilt. The member who sells the most tickets will win the wall hanging! I hope to have everyone's participation in getting all of these tickets sold!
