Not sure if I was exactly in my right mind when I agreed to not only be Sheila's assistant for this year's quilt show, but also to take the reins (or the threads???) for the 2012 show. Trying to follow Sheila around while setting up for a show is like herding cats.....if you can't run, you can't keep up with her. :-) She was constantly in 3 places at once, and knows where everything is, right down to tacks and tape. I was really exhausted after 2 days of setup and 2 days of running, running, running during the show itself. If you weren't there, you cannot possibly appreciate how hard Sheila works on the quilt shows, and she has done 3 of them in a row!! Applause, please!!! She deserves a huge THANKS from every guild member who sees her. This show went together very smoothly....we actually did not have any huge OOPPSSS's, no HUH-OHs, no tears, no hysterics, no misplaced quilts. What we did get was really great attendance, wonderful, beautiful quilts, hard working people who gave of their time and talents to put on the best show yet, a truly GORGEOUS show, a truly smooth and quick takedown and quilt distribution, and Judy Betz's wonderful collection of works to amaze and delight us!!!! Thanks so much, Judy!! We loved your work. What more could we ask for?? I am only hoping that I can do as well in 2012, and don't expect to do better. If you have any comments or suggestions for the next show, or you want to (hopefully!!) volunteer to help with the next show, please talk to me at the meetings (evenings), or call me at 319-8286 (evenings). I would love to keep up the tradition of breaking out of the previously wonderfully made mold for the next show. Have you seen anything really innovative and fun at a show? Tell me...we will look at all suggestions. Thanks!!! Janice
