A short description about your blog
Roberta

Just got this from a quilting buddy in Oklahoma... sort of fits all of us, doesn't it?

You know your are a quilt addict when:

* There is more fabric in the house than food
* "Fat Quarter" isn't the heaviest part of your body
* Your ironing board is always up, but you never iron clothes
* You think your job is an interruption of your quilting time
* You pet your fabric
* People pick thread off of you
* You can "eyeball" a 1/4 inch
* "Featherweight" is not a boxer
* UFO's  are not from outer space
* You clean up your sewing room and everyone thinks you are leaving

Hello to my quilting friends:
I just want you to know I am really missing all of you.  My leg is healing but not nearly as quickly as I would like. However, I am trying to be patient and do as I am told and taking Physical Therapy to regain the use of some lazy muscles that didn't work after the surgery.
On December 22, I will have cataract surgery for clearing up my vision in my right eye. Hopefully that will help me see better as I stitch on my quilt. I am so blessed in many ways, but I have to agree with Bette Davis that old age is not for sissies.  It is a full time job just keeping up with a reasonable schedule.
I wish each and every one a Happy Christmas, keeping in mind "Peace on Earth, Good Will to all men" and I send angel thoughts to you for a prosperous and healthy new year in 2010.  Good lord willing, I will see you in January.
God Bless.  Roberta

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am beginning to think old age is for the birds, and if one has a broken leg and cannot stand up long enough to cut, iron and put together quilt blocks, then one better find something to do sitting down. Cheryl Williams said, if you can't stand up to work, then it is time to appliqué.  Right you are Cheryl!! Guess I had best dig out my stuff and get to work.  I have a quilt to "hand quilt" as soon as my good buddy Jennifer and helper gets it pressed and pinned for me. Thanks ladies. What would I do without help from my friends? I really appreciate you. This morning, I think I will take my string scraps and make a few more 8-1/2" blocks on scrap paper for a string quilt, and maybe even turn some into some  new pot holders. Mine are getting a little the worst for wear.
Thanksgiving this year found us giving thanks for some of the things we don't have.  Like the "flu"... Jack ended up with pneumonia and is taking two different medications to try to overcome that. I am thankful I didn't break my arm (even though the leg is healing, I am still using a walker to get around) and I use my arms a lot these days.  Thanks to Bob and the Sunshine Team for the nice cards he sent me. How did you know I love humming birds?  Prayers sustain me in times when I cannot be among my friends.
I welcomed our rain last night and am happy to see the sun shining today. My lawn is covered with gold leaves from my liquidambar tree and I think it is beautiful. My gardener may not agree, but I enjoy seeing the fall colors and pretty leaves on the lawn.  Maybe it will inspire me to do another maple leaf quilt, who knows?
I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving week and are surrounded with those you love. I hope to see you in January and get back into my normal routine.  Blessings to all. Roberta
